Excerpt : John Marshall Law School

The day finally arrived.  I  was going to be attending John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.
This was one of the proudest moments of my father’s life.   He was absolutely thrilled, that his
only child, a daughter had been accepted.    This made my father very happy and he just thought
it was so poetic, that I would soon be a member of such an elite group as he was.
After all, my father Jackson Martin had been an alumni of John Marshall Law School and
maintained a perfect 4.0 gpa and had been one of the top in his class.   He always wanted
to keep his legacy going and now all eyes were on me.
I was excited in being able to finally start at John Marshall so that I could finally have my
freedom or so I thought.
You see my father did not like the fact that I had chosen to live with my boyfriend Dante
Caryle.  He was furious and always had his reservations about our relationship.
To say that my father and I were at a crossroads is an understatement.  I for the life of me
just did not understand, his way of thinking.   I mean I loved my father but his constant
put down of my own relationship, began to play a number on me.
“ This dark path I walk alone...
always in torture because of the reminders
of the past”.
“Will I ever be able to break the chains”?

Chapter 5 HIdden Truths

It was a Monday Morning that mid date in November.   Mr. Charles Mason, District  attorney for the city of Raleigh in the state of North Carolina was informed he would be  taking the case to court beginning November 15, 2010.   He was relieved to begin on  this case.   Since the murder investigation had begun in May, all of the case was not  processed and ready for trial until late September. Since the criminal investigation did  not fully wrap up until late August.  There were many factors that were involved in this  investigation.  However it was mostly due in part to the long psychiatric evaluations  done to Mrs. Sadie Martin Carlyle and the fact that Dante’s parents fought to make sure  the trial was not moved to Atlanta Georgia were Sadie was born and raised.   This was  a very hard time for the Carlyle’s.   They were shocked at all that had transpired since  their only son’s death.  They both felt that the supposed victim and their for

Before We say I do by Author Emerald Barnes Review

I really loved this short story of Before We Say I do by Emerald Barnes. Wow. This book which brings back the beloved characters of Emerald Barnes best selling novel, " Entertaining Angels, was so beautifully written and captured. Author Barnes is able to capture the big day approaching for Madison and Chase. It is the big day of their wedding and just when you thought you has seen the last of Zach. He is there to support his friends but mainly Chase and the relationship that has been broken between him and his father. Chase's father has just arrived and Zach is trying to help them both make a fresh start. Meanwhile Madison wants everything to work out for her future husband and love. This was a beautiful YA story full of love, emotion and faith. Emerald Barnes has done it again! It was amazing.  I must add I read the first version of this book and I am so in love with this new one.   I think it only enhanced on the story so much more.    My Rating was 5 stars!
