Prologue Revised

“ I am trapped in this dark hole,  “ I am trying to get out, but he does not allow me”, he is my
enemy and I wish he was gone.
“ Okay Sadie now why did you write this on your journal today and whom is this about.
“ This is about my husband Dante and I wrote this on my journal because I needed to
finally tell my side of everything that has happened”.
Oh!  okay, so What do you mean Dante, and that he is your enemy?  said a puzzled Dr.
Thompson.
“ Dante is the one who has been beating me all this time”,  Sadie fought back tears, as she said
this and then suddenly  her nose began to bleed.
“  Why would Dante hurt you Sadie?, stated Dr. Ray Thompson.  As he waited for her to respond
he then  noticed Sadie’s nose bleeding a bit stronger.
“  Sadie do you want me to call Dr. Brewster to schedule an appointment for your nose bleeds.
“ oh no!  Dr. Thompson she said,  “ that will not be necessary”.  Then she added   “  I have had
nose bleeds since I was a child”.
Oh I was not aware of that..  He stated and then asked  “ So these nose bleeds are normal to
you”?
“ Yes,  Doctor ,  she answered in a more angry tone.    Listen, Dr. Thompson, I appreciate your
concern however, right now your concern should be on Dante my husband who is out to  kill
me”,   because he wants custody of  Keyla”!
“ Keyla, you mean your infant daughter”?
“ Yes,  doctor my lovely baby girl.
( Dr.Thompson’s  heart began  to race.)   “ Sadie do you recall what happened last night”?
“ Yes,  doctor my husband took our daughter and now is trying to kill me so that he can keep her”!    Sadie again breaks down in tears.
“  Sadie, listen to me now,  you need to stop this and you need to do it now”!!!!

Excerpt : John Marshall Law School

The day finally arrived.  I  was going to be attending John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.    This was one of the proudest moments of my father’s life.   He was absolutely thrilled, that his  only child, a daughter had been accepted.    This made my father very happy and he just thought  it was so poetic, that I would soon be a member of such an elite group as he was.  After all, my father Jackson Martin had been an alumni of John Marshall Law School and  maintained a perfect 4.0 gpa and had been one of the top in his class.   He always wanted  to keep his legacy going and now all eyes were on me.    I was excited in being able to finally start at John Marshall so that I could finally have my  freedom or so I thought. You see my father did not like the fact that I had chosen to live with my boyfriend Dante  Caryle.  He was furious and always had his reservations about our relationship.   To say that my father and I were at a crossroads

Shades of a Battered Mind by: Sylvia Stein

Hello everyone, I wanted to share a tease of my upcoming book which I am working very hard on:  This is my WIP: I hope you enjoy! Shades of a Battered Mind  by Sylvia Stein  Chapter 1   “ The Normal Life “ As I lie here holding on to my sanity.   I have to say never in a million years would I have thought all would turn out the way it did.   You see for most of my life I had been searching and hoping that one day I would find the one  and be able to finally lead a “ normal life.”  However nothing could be farther from the truth.  My name is Sadie Martin Carlyle and  on May 27, 2010 I was charged with the murder of my husband Dante Carlyle.   The thing that makes this so horrific is that  I do not even remember  committing the crime.    All I know is that when I awoke the next morning,  My husband Dante was dead and I was found  next to his body and the murder weapon.   As of now all I can do is await my trial which will not be for a few months.   Sadly
