New Excerpt: Revised

 Prologue:
“ Sadie why are you acting up?  Why are you trembling?”, please let
me help you”!
The room got pitched dark and Sadie felt the room begin to spin rapidly.
“ Stay away from me Dante!,  or I swear I will kill you”.   “ You have
hurt me for the very last time!”
As she said this Dante tried to walk quietly towards her.
“ Please baby- Why don’t you let me call the doctor so he can help you?
After a brief silence- Sadie grabs a gun.
“ Sadie  please put the gun down”!, he said urgently.   “Please baby,
don’t do this” !   “ Give me the gun, okay, I promise you darlin, we can
get through this!”, he said in a stern tone.
“ No! Dante, don’t try to make me forget all you have done to me” !
As Sadie cried out, her thoughts began to run away with her.     As she looked down,
at the 9 millimeter gun she had in her hand, her nose began to bleed.   Then suddenly
her vision got very blurry.   She could hear her daughter’s cry and all of a sudden the room
begins to move  in different directions.   She could barely hear Dante’s voice.  It is slowly dimming away,  and she can see his

brown eyes fading.    All of a sudden she begins to stumble  down and a gun
suddenly goes off...

Excerpt of Battered Mind Chapter 1

Sadie Carlyle awoke in a state of despair when she finally opened her eyes, and noticed that  she was lying in what appeared to be a large hospital bed.   Then,  she immediately began  screaming very loudly.  She was so out of control that a strong sedative was required to calm her  down.   Her long red hair looked so dry, as the sedative took immediate effect.  It was not very  long before her greenish eyes began to close again, her skin looked so pale as the nurse applied  a soft pillow under her neck.   This had been an intense few days for Sadie.   Her emotions    were running so high that you could see the puffiness in her swollen eyes from all the non-stop  crying.   It was so hard to believe that Sadie was once a very attractive green eyed  red head that captivated a room with her profound beauty.  After a few minutes the nurse noticed  that Sadie w...

Excerpt : John Marshall Law School

The day finally arrived.  I  was going to be attending John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.    This was one of the proudest moments of my father’s life.   He was absolutely thrilled, that his  only child, a daughter had been accepted.    This made my father very happy and he just thought  it was so poetic, that I would soon be a member of such an elite group as he was.  After all, my father Jackson Martin had been an alumni of John Marshall Law School and  maintained a perfect 4.0 gpa and had been one of the top in his class.   He always wanted  to keep his legacy going and now all eyes were on me.    I was excited in being able to finally start at John Marshall so that I could finally have my  freedom or so I thought. You see my father did not like the fact that I had chosen to live with my boyfriend Dante  Caryle.  He was furious and always had his re...
